During the golden age of Hollywood, one name was synonymous with beauty and personality, Marilyn. The Hollywood starlet Marilyn Monroe was known for iconic body figure that wasn’t easy to maintain according to her exercise and diet routine.
In an interview with Pageant magazine in 1952, Monroe disclosed some of her beauty secrets that start with being in peak physical health. Monroe disclosed that she isn’t the type of girl who enjoys outdoor sports like golf, swimming, and claims she wouldn’t focus on exercising too much as she wanted to maintain her natural figure.
Later on, Monroe developed her own workout routine to target her desired muscles starting with a short 10-minute morning workout using weights. Monroe would start with a bust-firming routine lying on the floor with arms in spread-eagle position using five-pound weights, moving arms from the spread-eagle arm position to a point directly above the head for 15 slow reps.
Monroe would go on to repeat this exercise 15 more times with her arms in a position with arms above her head. Monroe would then turn her arms into a 45-degree angle, moving her weights in a circular motion until she is tired. Monroe also explains that she doesn’t enjoy regimented exercise and she likes to work out her desired areas without a dedicated time structure.
Monroe was known for having a low-carb, high protein diet with some interesting food favorites. For breakfast, Monroe would drink her form of a protein shake consisting of a glass of warm milk and two raw eggs or supplements it with a multivitamin.
For dinner, Monroe rarely ate out opting to make her own dinner of steak, liver, or lambchop at the local market and she would broil it herself. For her side, she would eat raw carrots. Monroe would like to treat herself with a dessert after dinner or getting offset with her favorite being a hot fudge ice cream sundae.
Monroe claims that on average she sleeps five to ten hours per night as she constantly had a busy schedule. This might seem like a crazy routine, but celebrities live a completely different life then and now.
